Mithila King Janak had organized a svayamvaraa to select husband for princess sita .

He invited brave kings on that occasion.Bhagwan Shri Ram also reached there with his brother and Saint Vishwamitra.

It was announced that whosoever will bend the bow of Lord Shiva ,will princess sita.

Mata Sita was an incarnation of Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. But none of the king was able to lift Lord Shiva`s bow, except Ram.

Bhagwan Shri Ram lifted the bow with his one hand and bended it so hard that it even broke.

So Ram got married to Sita.

14 Years of Vanvas :

Bhagwan Shri Ram was supposed to be the next King of ayodha but step mother Kaikeyi want her son Bharata to become the King,Once She saved life of Dasharatha and thus she forces Dasharatha to send Lord Rama in the forest for 14 years.

Respecting his father wish, Lord Rama went to exile. His wife Goddess sita and his younger brother Lashmana also prayed to bring them with him .

War against Demon King Ravana :

Ravana imprisoned Goddess Sita and wished her to marry him but she refused .

Shri Ram attacked his kingdom lanka with the help of Hanuman, Sugreev and Bali and their 'Vaanar Sena' and defeat him , Sitaji was released from the control of Ravana.

After this victory and completing exile, Rama returned to home Ayodhya.
