..The B-Sides CD shows a slightly different side of Moby's work - there are more ambient tracks here. Rather than being disappointing compared to 'Play', the second CD complements it perfectly, and with over 1 hour of listening on each CD, it's a great bargain as well - get it while you can!

..And all I have to say is WOW! Some of the so-called B-side songs are even better than some of the songs on 'Play'. I wonder who decided what got included in 'Play' - Moby or the studio execs???

..It starts out beautifully with Flower.It fuses hip hop sounds with gospel and ambient tones.Wonderful.The next track,Sunday is a techno kicker! What I really like about the disc that is has variety.Fast to mid-tempo beatsthroughout.Out of the 11 tracks,only one is weak.The track,Flying over the dateline sounds like Aphex Twin stuff.Otherwise it is great so don't pass this up.
Format explanation
This release is consist of one APE file, grabbed with EAC as CD image. CUE and LOG are tagged within the APE. CUE is in the tag, named CUESHEET and LOG is in LOGFILE tag. When you opening the APE in foobar, playlist already will be separated to tracks (as if you open common APE though CUE).
You can easily access to the tags in foobar. Just open the APE and right-mouse-click on any track in the playlist -> Properties.
For those, who don't use foobar and don't want to get life more complicated LOG and CIE will follow in next post.

But this summer 2017 release is not just for hardcore Beach House fans, as the pieces brought together on this compilation give a good account of the talent of this Baltimore duo who specialise in dream pop. Like a nice introduction for novices… 2015 was a good year for Beach House fans. With two excellent albums just 50 days apart (Depression Cherry followed by Thank Your Lucky Stars), the sublime melancholy that is carried on the voice of Victoria Legrand (niece of Michel) and in the harmonies of Alex Scally offered a nicely varied palette of tones. The mixed bag suggested by the title B-Sides and Rarities isn’t really what you get. Fourteen songs gleaned from across the length of their career, with in particular two unreleased numbers: Chariot and Baseball Diamond. ” When we announced that we were releasing a B-sides and rarities album the pair relate, someone on Twitter asked, ‘B-sides record? Why would Beach House put out a B-sides record? Their A-sides are like B-sides.’ This random person has a point. Our goal has never been to make music that is explicitly commercial. Over the years, as we have worked on our 6 LPs, it wasn’t the ‘best’ or most catchy songs that made the records, just the ones that fit together to make a cohesive work. Accordingly, our B-sides are not songs that we didn’t like as much, just ones that didn’t have a place on the records we were making. “
