You just wasted your time for the weakest armour in the game.[/align] [align=center]This mod makes power armour (including NCR salvaged) actually power armour by increasing DT up to 80 (health is mostly untouched), increases value (4000 for one of the rarest and most powerful armour in the world? lol) and adds stats (fire resist, energy resist, water breathing) to make them somewhat akin to Fallout 4 power armour.[/align] [align=center]Inspired by some mods that also makes power armour useful (mostly this https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/64396), but with my own ideas.[/align] [align=center]It's better to see the stats yourself, but I tried not to make it too OP.[/align] [align=center]To install, extract .esp file to [b]C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonFallout New VegasData[/b] [/align] [hr] [align=left][b]NCR salvaged:[/b] Increased DT[/align] [align=left][b]T45d:[/b] Increased DT, added fire and energy resistance, increased rad resistance for both body and helmet, helmet increases PER and adds water breathing due to high tech.[/align] [align=left]Fire resistance is added because in FO4, a power armour user literally survived a space rocket engine blast while enclosed in a tiny space.[/align] [align=left][b]T51b:[/b] T45d with better stats. [/align] [align=left] [b]Enclave:[/b] Made more for environmental hazards compared to full-on protection T45d/T51b. Greatly increased rad, fire and energy resistance and a small poison resistance. High tech makes this the most powerful armour at 80 DT but still the weakest power armour. Helmet increases PER more than T45d/T51b and has water breathing.[/align] [align=left][b]Gannon Tesla: [/b]Unique Enclave armour built to withstand energy. Has great energy resistance but reduced fire resistance and no poison resistance. Still the most powerful at 80 DT. Helmet is largely the same.[/align] [align=left][b][i]Lonesome Road [/i]Scorched Sierra:[/b] T45d but with a huge fire resistance.[/align] [align=left][hr] [/align] [align=left][i]why[/i][/align] [align=left]Power armour is made to withstand long term warfare, so it should be able to do so. Even the Courier notes that power armour is 'completely bulletproof' at the start of Honest Hearts.[/align] [align=left][i]is t51b too op[/i][/align] [align=left]The lore states that T51b is a largely improved T45d in every aspect such as mobility, weight and protection.[/align] [align=left][i]omg enclave armour is op cheat banned xdxdxd[/i][/align] [align=left]It's an armour made by the most technologically advanced society of the wastelands at the same time it's rare and you only get one set after completing the Enclave questline. So it has to be worth it. The balancing aspect is that it has very low health at three digits instead of four.[/align]

Fallout 3

This perk allows one to use any kind of power armor in the game. Prior to this perk, equipping power armor was impossible. This perk can be gained by two ways:

  1. After gaining permission from Elder Lyons, speak to Paladin Gunny in the A-Ring of the Citadel. There is no charge or other requirement for training - the screen simply fades to black as Gunny begins teaching you. Once that's done, you may use any kind of power armor, including the Enclave and the Outcast variants. If you do not ask for training on your own, you will get it automatically at the end of The American Dream when you become an honorary member of Lyons' Pride, however these options appear very late in the game.
  2. You automatically gain this perk when you finish the Anchorage Reclamation simulation in the Operation: Anchorageadd-on.

Fallout: New Vegas

As in Fallout 3, this perk allows one to utilize power armor. Without this perk, any power armor found cannot be equipped. There are two ways of obtaining this training.

  1. After completing the quest Still in the Dark return to either Nolan McNamara or Edgar Hardin, depending on who is now Elder.
    1. If McNamara remains Elder, wait 24 hours outside of the bunker for the lockdown to be lifted, then talk to him. Tell him you wish to join the Brotherhood of Steel and this will begin the Eyesight to the Blind quest. When this is completed you will then receive Power Armor Training.
    2. If you helped Hardin become Elder, complete the Tend to Your Business quest.
  2. The other option for training is to complete the For Auld Lang Syne quest, given by Arcade Gannon. Once you have gathered the Remnants together, you will be provided with the perk in addition to a suit of Remnants power armor.

Notes

  • NCR salvaged power armor does not require Power Armor Training in order to be worn, due to the absence of the servo-motors.
  • If you first complete For Auld Lang Syne and later complete Still in the Dark, Elder McNamara will be astonished that you already had Power Armor Training and will ask where you learned it from. However he then brushes it off as a result of the Courier being 'well traveled' and will not give you the option to alert him of the former Enclave bunker nearby.
  • You are the only person in the entire game who needs a special perk to wear power armor, companions like Raul who would likely have no experience with power armor has the ability to wear it. Even raiders can wear power armor.
  • In Honest Hearts, there exists a dialog option enabled by this perk when talking to Ricky, where you can refute his suspicious claim that he shot a Brotherhood of Steel paladin through the eyeslit with an '11mm sub machine gun', by stating that the eye slits of the T-series are bulletproof.
  • If playing with the JSawyer mod, power armor training is no longer required to use power armor. Instead, wearing power armor with training gives a bonus to carry weight, equivalent to the weight of the armor.
